Extractions & Oral Surgery

Unfortunately there will be occasions when a tooth needs to be extracted. In most cases a tooth can be extracted safely by your dentist under local anaesthesia (injection in the mouth).

Where the tooth to be extracted presents a special difficulty, for instance an impacted widom tooth. then your dentist may refer you to a dentist that specialises in difficult extractions or an oral surgeon.

Your dentist may refer you to an oral surgeon for other reasons, for example, to diagnose and treat any lesion presenting in the soft tissues of the mouth.
